I worked Saturday and Sunday and believe me, was I glad to have Monday and Tuesday off!
Mr Slippers came over on Monday afternoon. We went to the Night Noodle Markets in Hyde Park. There were dozens of stalls selling food from many many Asian countries (although I'm not sure the gozleme and mini pancake stalls are really authentically Asian!!!). Luckily it didn't rain, I'd been watching the weather forecast anxiously all week. We had dim sum to start with, then roti canai and chicken baked in banana leaves, then roast duck pancakes and Vietnamese rice paper rolls. Kir Royale (sparkling wine with black raspberry liqueur) and sticky rice dumpling (mango for him, custard for me) to finish. Both of us were very very full after that!
Tuesday morning we slept in, then we went to Mr Slippers's mum's house for lunch. She made handmade wontons and they were sooooo tasty... the nicest wontons I've ever had! After lunch he and I went for a walk in the Botanical Gardens and around to Mrs Macquarie's Chair. The weather and the view were both beautiful. We cooked Mexican food for dinner later that night. I wished I didn't have to go to work the next morning... but someone made me breakfast while I was getting dressed :D
